About
Kade HB is a current Wood-Fire Artist-in-Residence at Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology Project in Cobb, California and Ceramics Studio Technician at Calistoga Art Center.
Kade grew up in Livingston, Montana and Vancouver Island, British Columbia and a handful of other places. He has been devoted to art-making since a young age. In 2017, he attended a semester at the Aegean Center for the Fine Arts in Italy and Greece before pursuing undergraduate studies at St Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Kade graduated St Olaf in 2022 with a B.A. in Studio Art and was awarded an Emerging Artist Residency through the college the following year, during which he also served as the Interim Ceramics Studio Technician. He then went on to complete a two-year post-baccalaureate in Ceramics at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana and recently spent a summer assisting at Touchstone School of Crafts.
Kade’s work is centered around a meditation on change and impermanence through the lens of geological weathering, informed by tactile memories of the places that shaped him.
